Software that does the boring parts well—so the rest can feel effortless.

We're six engineers and designers who build AI products and SaaS for companies who measure twice. Production-grade evals, edge deploys, and a senior team that stays through launch.

Capabilities

Four disciplines.
One small team.

We don't have a “growth” practice. We don't have a “discovery” practice. Just four things, done in-house, by the people you'll meet on day one.

01

AI products

LLM-native tools, retrieval, agentic workflows. Evals, observability, and cost controls from day one.

Claude · GPT · Llama
Vector DBs
Eval harnesses
Cost telemetry
Recent · Fenix · Meridian · Kesselrun
02

SaaS development

End-to-end product work. Auth, billing, ops — the plumbing that ships and the surface that delights.

Next.js · Server actions
Postgres · Drizzle
Stripe billing
Auth.js · Clerk
Recent · Northwind · Orbitlab
03

Platform & infrastructure

Edge functions, multi-region data, queues, background jobs. The systems that quietly hold the product up.

Vercel · Cloudflare
Queues · Cron
Observability
Migrations · DR
Recent · Ferma · Orbitlab
04

Design systems

Component libraries and tokens that age well — built alongside the product, not sold separately.

React · CSS tokens
A11y baseline
Figma → code
Motion language

The work that worked

Numbers we'd put on a contract, not a slide.

We track outcomes, not hours. Every engagement leaves with a public scorecard — what we promised, what we shipped, and the metric that moved.

“We've worked with three studios before Inventiva. This is the first one where the engineers cared about the same things we cared about.”

How we work

A four-beat rhythm. No waterfalls, no sprints theatre.

I
Discover
Two weeks of structured conversations, prototypes, and technical probes. We leave with a plan we'd bet on.
II
Design
Interfaces, models, data — explored in parallel. We sketch in code, not in Figma, because code is the real constraint.
III
Build
Two engineers, one designer, one product lead — paired tight. Deployed to production from day one behind a feature flag.
IV
Operate
We stay on after launch. Evals, monitoring, iteration. Software is a practice, not a project.
About the studio

Six people. One office. No pipeline of juniors waiting to touch your product.

Inventiva was founded in 2026 in Lisbon by Sofia and Rafael after a decade of building at larger studios. We take on four or five engagements a year — no more — because we still want to do the work ourselves.

Why we evaluate (almost) everything we ship

Evals are the cheapest way to keep your AI feature from drifting into the swamp.

The middle of the app is where the craft is

Everyone polishes the landing page. The interesting work happens three screens deep.

How we shipped Meridian without a sprint

Twelve weeks, no sprints, no standups. What we did instead.

Careers

We grow slowly, on purpose.

4 roles open right now. If none fit, leave a note anyway — we read every application.

How to work with us

Three shapes of engagement. Pick one that fits the question you're asking.
